MK78 LMG - the new God Gun of bo7 bot lobbies The term overpowered is not one we use lightly. However, after testing this weapon, there was no other choice. It is a monstrous weapon.
When we first pick up a lightweight machine gun, it is normal to feel slow and to remain anchored in place while shooting. It's better to make it a second weapon. It is a combination of the LMG's obliterating power and the lightness, size and nimbleness that a light-weight rifle (AR) offers. It is a complete change of game.
It's also worth mentioning that this build is absolutely amazing. This new build is absolutely savage. You can shred enemies in close quarters and from long distances.
This loadout will be used by players who are looking to achieve high kill rounds or tactical nukes. Your other loadout can remain unchanged. We optimized this setup so that it keeps the MK78 unique while shredding.
mmoset Attachment Breakdown
In order to turn the MK78 heavy-hitter into an agile slayer we have to focus on ADS speed (Aim down Sight), sprint-to-fire speed, and stealth.
The Logic Behind the Build
Why is the Suppressor needed?
You might ask, "Why not use a snoot for recoil?" It's easy: the MK78 comes with a built-in control system. By using Grievous A762, the element of shock is added. Using the Grievous A762 allows us to chain kills behind enemy lines while staying off of the mini-map.
Speed is king
The combination of Skylandance Barrels, Hades Looper Grips, and Charin Light Stocks is what breaks the balance of the game. LMGs usually punish you for movement. With this setup we can jump around corners, slide cancelling and strafing quicker than many SMGs. We're essentially building a heavy AR with a giant magazine.
The Magazine Swap
The 65 Round Fast Mag is what we chose (Swift Fed Fast Belt). The 65-round capacity may be a bit larger but it's the sweet spot. It increases our ability to aim down sight, and improves the speed with which we reload. You can easily kill four enemies with 65 bullets if you make your shots.
Perks & Equipment for the Complete Class Setup
A gun can only be as good as its user. To take full advantage of the aggressive build MK78 we need perks which keep us on our feet and regenerate our health.
Secondary Weapon
Jagger (A great weapon for destroying weak opponents or if your reloading is caught).
Field Upgrade : Mute Field
It is by far the most powerful upgrade to a field for this type of play. It allows us to have Cold Blooded Ninja as well as Ghost all at once. We become invisible to AI streaks as well as UAVs.
Perk Package
1. It is vital to make the LMG lighter. We must act fast to close gaps.
2. Scavenger. Ammo is a scarce resource when you have a high rate of fire. This keeps us stocked, without the need of a second ammo container.
3. Looper: Useful for cycling our streaks, equipment and other gear faster.
4. Enforcer - Specialty: Here's the key. Every kill gives you a temporary increase in your health and movement speed. This allows us chain kills. You heal one target, then you speed up to find the second.
Tacticals:
Stimshot: For immediate health recovery in difficult situations.
Semtex: A reliable and lethal way to clear campers.
Loadouts that will help you dominate the game
Each tactical nuke type requires a different setup in order to be successful. Recommended:
Play Aggressively
The LMG is not the weapon to be used to just sit and wait. The tactical nuke is not relevant for an LMG position. However, challenging dangerous positions and pushing objectives with your firepower (rather then being a nuke anchor or a pain position) can be effective. Hades Looper Xgrip lets you guard a distance and fire at will, catching the enemy by surprise.
Abuse the Strafe-Speed
The Charin Light Stock will give you a huge boost in your movement and speed. With side-toside movement and strafe velocity, you can present your target with a wide range of obstacles to track. Thanks to the low recoil of the visual system, engaging a target can be easy.
Reloading as often is not necessary
LMG reloads, even with the Fast Magazine, are unsatisfying and annoying. They cause your brain override, triggering a reload for every slight shift in target. If you have 65 rounds in your LMG, it's not necessary to reload. It's more than half of the LMG's total capacity.
FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions About MK78 Build
Q: Can the ELO optical be used instead of iron sights?
A: Absolutely. The MK78 iron sights look quite nice. The optic can be removed if you feel comfortable. You could then use the slot to install a different attachment like High Velocity Ammo, or even a new grip. The ELO is the better choice for a clear view from a distance.
Q: Does this build work for Ranked play?
A: Some attachments like suppressors and lasers might be restricted. The MK78 can still be built to speed, as long as the fundamental concept is followed. The LMG is the best if it can be used, but it's important to note that they are usually banned in competition rulesets or severely restricted.
Q: What is the difference between the Quickstep 4 and the Steady 90 Grip?
Both are excellent options. We chose the Steady 90 for its specific boost to sprinting, which perfectly fits our aggressive wanderer playstyle. Quickstep 4 will give you slightly quicker ADS times if that is what you are looking for.
Final Thoughts
Black Ops 7 has no other weapon that is better than the MK78. The MK78 is a combination of a heavy-stopping big gun and the quick agility that comes with an assault rifle. By defining the meta through this set loadout we are doing more than playing it.
This is a great setup to try in your next match. Although the mobility of an LMG may be a bit strange, once you have your first three-kills while sliding round a corner, you will see why this weapon is known as the God Gun. Go secure the Nuke!
